The origin of the name Syco XT®

The name Syco XT® is a combination of the Japanese slang word "Syco" and the acronym XT for Cross Trainer.

"Syco" – The youth culture in Japanese use the word "Syco" to mean good or awesome. The word is often used when describing extreme sports such as Skateboarding tricks etc. In the early Naughties Australian youth culture used the term "Sick" in the same way the Japanese use "Syco".

XT – Cross Trainer. The syco XT® is considered a cross trainer as the exercise achived improves both your strength and endurance. It is also weight-bearing AND non-impact which is a major advantage over the traditional aerobic exercises such as running, cycling, walking and swimming meaning it has a big future in rehabilitation and exercise for the elderly, disabled and for those recovering from injury.

"Syco" is not "psycho"

The use of the term "Syco" is not intended to have anything to do with the slang term Psycho. Syco Fitness Aust Pty Ltd considers the use of the word psycho to be offensive and derogatory. Syco Fitness Aust is committed to helping all people enjoy the excitement and thrill of flying through the air on a skateboard deck without the worry of falling off. We have a dream to get as many people enjoying the fun and excitement of riding the Syco XT and getting some exercise while doing it. We are working with the Disabled Surfers Association of Australia to try and improve the lives of others. Syco Fitness Aust believes in a stict Nondiscriminatory Policy.
